Creativity

Starting off with creativity, I play the flute, which adds to my creativity hours!

Flute was something I picked up quite reluctantly at the end of 8th grade. My mom gave me a choice between the piano and the flute and having played the flute for 1 and a half years before, I realized that if I continued with piano lessons, I would probably go insane sooner or later due to the lack of chemistry between me and the piano. I took up my mom's offer on flute lessons, took out my sister's flute, and started going for lessons. I hated it at first because it was so hard; I could barely play one note steadily! The piano practically required no actual effort on my part since all I had to do was hit a bunch of keys to create sounds (whether they were pleasant or not...) but I couldn't even produce a decent sound on the flute. Whenever I did succeed somewhat at the flute, I felt this surge of pride of being able to hit that one note or even produce a sound that didn't resemble the sound of a dying cat. Unlike with the piano, I would sometimes practice without the need of my mom's nagging because I could play songs that I wanted to that had nothing to do with the songs I was assigned to by my teacher. I couldn't do that on the piano because of my lack of skills and ability to play by ear. However, because the actual process to play the flute is harder, the actual notes and keys were much simpler. Once I could create decent sounds, I could play any song I wanted to as long as I could find the scores on the internet. It has impacted my life for the better as I learn to do my assignments on time and push myself to the limit and accomplish something to make myself proud.

Despite playing the flute for quite awhile, I can only count the hours from September. I also stopped the lessons in January due to school work and other issues that conflicted with my lessons.
I used to go for lessons every Friday for 45 minutes: 45 * 18 = 810 = 13.5 hours.
I would also practice flute at home but since those hours were a lot more flexible, 1hour a week was the bare minimum for my practice time (of course an hour a week is way too little but since I usually just randomly pick up my flute and play without any set timing, I'll count the minimum time): 18 weeks * 1 hour = 18 hours.
18 hours + 13.5 hours = 31.5hours
